(ERC)The ERC was designed by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation.
No matter how long you have been riding, the Experienced Rider Course is tough enough to challenge your skills. This 6 hour course is designed as a street survival check-up and is intended for licensed riders who have at least six months or 1000 miles of current riding experience. The ERC will help you to sharpen your street riding awareness and will hone your street survival riding skills. This is not a high performance riding school. It is intended to help you polish those skills that motorcycle accident research has shown were lacking in those riders who crashed. You will be exposed to advanced cornering techniques, quick swerving and avoidance techniques, countersteering, traction control, emergency braking for curves and slippery surfaces. Skills that you will be able to use riding to the corner store, or cross-country.
Motorcycle Riding School can set up special ERCs for your riding group.
Course Length: All classes are on Fridays from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Classroom: You will discuss with your peers how to effectively balance mental and physical aspects of safe riding, manage risk, increase visibility and optimize your lane position. Protective gear, rider responsibility, effects of drugs and alcohol on riding, how to create your personal strategy for riding in traffic and dealing with critical situations. All classroom related material will be covered on the range.
